What the heck did we decide?

I started Lumere alone and hired engineers as the work grew. And somehow I was still the one asking the same questions in every meeting, just to a different person each time. What did we settle on for the schema. Which prompt version actually shipped. I would literally search Slack for it, Slack AI included, and not get what I wanted, so I would end up going back through huddle transcripts and notes trying to work out what the heck we decided. The whole time one thought kept nagging at me: why is none of this logged as and when it happens? I did not want a better search bar. I wanted the company to remember its own reasoning, so I could stop being the guy who held it.

Everyone is racing to put AI agents inside companies right now. Almost nobody is asking what a company has to look like for agents to be worth anything. An agent that answers from a messy pile inherits the mess, and garbage in, garbage out did not go away because the models got better. Enterprise search will answer your question from the data you already have. Apostra is the other thing: a record that grows up with your company, however early or small you start, and logs the decisions and the actions that followed, reasoning attached, as they happen. So when you open a project, you see why we went with that schema, which prompt version we settled on, what it replaced, who made the call. Getting to that used to be archaeology. Now it is just reading.

The agents are the easy part. The memory underneath them is the hard part, and it is the part nobody is building. We are running it on our own history before asking anyone to trust it with theirs, and I read this inbox myself.
